Sundays – Grace Church Launceston
We love having new guests on Sunday. Here’s what to expect if you come along.
Our Sunday has 2 main parts: a Worship Service (3-4PM) and Gospel Training (4:30-5PM).
We meet at 1A Clare Street Hadspen (Hadspen Memorial Centre). Our church service starts at 3PM. Please feel free to come along a 5 minutes earlier to get oriented to the building and meet some people.
Sunday Service
You’ll receive a handout as you walk in which explains what the Sunday Service will look like. We believe the Bible is God’s word, and all about Jesus, and we want to listen to God. The service, therefore, includes several Bible readings and a sermon (a talk based on part of the Bible for about 25-30 minutes). There are also 3 songs that everyone sings together. During our service someone leads everyone in prayers to God. Each month we also share the Lord’s Supper and we also occasionally witness a Baptism. This gathering is for anyone, all ages (including kids!) and backgrounds, and goes for about 1 hour. And there’s the opportunity to ask any questions after the formal service finishes.
Children
We love having kids join us at Grace Church. We include everyone in the church service. We work hard at engaging children in our gathering so they can worship God as well. We have kids in mind in every part of the Sunday service. We provide activity sheets at the Welcome Desk for primary aged kids. We also have group called Gospel Training Kids every Sunday. Our teachers do a fantastic job teaching our kids about Jesus. This group is runs while the adults meet for their Gospel Training session and follows Afternoon Tea.
Community
There’ll be time to hang out over good food, tea and coffee after the church service. You can do that by yourself, with your friends, or get to know some new people. We really value community life, and so there are other opportunities to get together with other people during the week. You’re welcome to come along to one of our Community Groups (more information here).
Gospel Training
After a break for a snack and drinks, we’ll move into what we’re calling Gospel Training. This is a 1/2 hour discussion time about connecting Jesus to every part of life. It’s an ideal space to ask questions about God, go deeper into the Bible, and think practically about what it means to be a person who lives for Jesus. You don’t have to have any prior knowledge to join in. You can just sit and enjoy the discussion or participate as you would like.
There is a ‘Gospel Training’ session for children running at the same time. This is lead by trained teachers and includes Bible teaching and fun activites.
Welcome Desk
As you walk into church, you’ll be greeted by some friendly people who will welcome you to church. If you have questions about Grace Church, would like to talk to or pray with someone, then the people at the Welcome Desk can point you in the right direction. You can also find out how to get involved in our church community. We’d love to get to know you!
Let us know if you’re planning to come on Sunday, and we’ll save you a seat!
